What kind of fertilizer do you use on your African Violet? If you want your AV to bloom, use a fertilizer with higher phosphorus (the “P” in NPK). FYI, NPK is the three basic components that make up most fertilizers.
Be careful not to over-fertilize though

I have an African Violet that is about 5yrs old. It has only bloomed one time. I have even forgotten what color it is! The leaves are beautiful and the plant is about 8″ in diameter. How can I get it to bloom?

I live in a village and work in agriculturing. We use fertilizers and i try to read everything about them.

Good post and so true. You are not alone…I over fertilized my impatiens plant and it did not recover. -Amy
