Putrajaya – City in the Garden
I have traveled so much in the past two months, to Cambodia as well as many places in Malaysia. Besides Kuala Lumper, Langkawi, Melaka, and Sabah, I also visited Putrajaya – the new Federal Government administrative center and future capital of Malaysia.
Frankly, in this current stage, Putrajaya hasn’t yet been tourist friendly enough. The city is still under development, guided by the strategic vision 2015, which is to turn Putrajaya into a well managed, vibrant, prosperous city.

“City in the Garden” is the main theme that the development of Putrajaya is based on, and I think the city is sticking with the theme very well. Lots of greens, beautiful parks, and landscape architectural ideas, I am looking forward to see how this city will turn into in the future

When I first visited Putrajaya, I was very amazed by the gigantic buildings there, the open gate concept of the houses, the low population and new things everywhere. It is a more pleasant place to be as compared with KL
I hope the hot weather here did not make you uncomfortable.
Stephanie, since there was no food court or restaurant in the area near Putra Mosque, we had to take a cab to a mall for lunch. While I am not very sure, I guess it’s the Alamanda mall. And yes, I am impressed by the city planning and the green I found in Putrajaya

Bumped into your website while browsing on my literature review. I work in Putrajaya and quite familiar with the cityscape. If you happen to be there again and trying to look for all the public facilities, please drive to the residential presint like Presint 9, 8 and 16. Most of what’s missing for public needs at the moment can easily be found at residential presint..or they called it neighbourhood centre. good luck!!!
